Spiritual Counselling
Who this is for
Maybe you’ve tried talking about your spiritual life in therapy before and found it politely sidestepped - or treated as something to be explained away. Or perhaps something has shifted for you spiritually and the ground doesn’t feel as solid as it did. Old beliefs have fallen away, or new experiences have opened up that you don’t have words for yet, and you’re not sure who you can talk to about it without being judged.
Spiritual counselling is for people who want therapy that makes room for all of that. You don’t need a particular faith, or any faith at all. You might be deeply committed to a spiritual path, questioning everything, or somewhere in between. What matters is that the whole of you is welcome - the practical, everyday parts and the parts asking bigger questions about meaning and purpose.
How I work
I’m an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, NCPS accredited, and I’ve been working with clients online since 2014. My work is informed by over a decade of study with A Course in Miracles, alongside training in therapeutic approaches including Gestalt and Internal Family Systems. I also hold a Certificate in ACIM Spiritual Counselling and have completed A Course in Miracles Ministerial Training.
That doesn’t mean I’ll bring my framework to you. I work with clients across belief systems - what matters is what serves your healing. My work is client led, so we can work on a practical level with what’s happening day to day, or go deeper and work on a more spiritual level if that’s what you want. Often it’s a bit of both.
I have a very present and relational approach. I care about how you feel now, how you relate to the people and the world around you, and how you want to feel going forward. Alongside our conversations I can offer practical tools - therapeutic coaching, mindfulness and EFT (tapping) among them - and you choose what works for you.
When it feels like a spiritual crisis
Sometimes a spiritual opening doesn’t feel peaceful at all. It can feel disorientating, lonely or frightening - as if your sense of who you are and what you believe has been pulled out from under you. If that’s where you are, you don’t need to have it figured out before we talk. We start exactly where you are, at whatever pace feels right for you.
What a first session is like
Before anything else, we have a free 30-minute consultation over a secure video call. It’s a chance for you to tell me a little about why you’re thinking about counselling, and for us both to get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. If it doesn’t feel right for either of us, I may be able to recommend someone else.
If we go ahead, sessions are 50 minutes over secure video through my online portal / app, so you can join from wherever you feel comfortable. In the first session you’re in control. There’s no pressure to tell me everything at once or to explain your beliefs in a particular way. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here, what you’d like to be different, and how you’d like us to work together. I usually suggest planning for six to twelve weekly sessions, but it’s your journey and we can adjust as we go.
Sessions are £70 each, with 10% off a block of four.
